I recently received an email about Ball State’s jazz band performing in Pruis Hall. The argument is for them to have a good attendance at there performance. The admission is free, so they are just trying to get people to come out and see the work they have put in to have a good jazz band. The author I assume is the jazz teacher, or someone at Ball State, who runs the music department. The audience is for anyone who is a student at Ball State, and maybe for people around the Muncie area who have been involved with the music department, or just music around this area. I have nothing to do with music here at Ball State, so I am just assuming that this was a mass email sent around the entire university. To me I don’t think there is a rhetorical exigency. If it wasn’t for this assignment I would have probably never opened the email, therefore I would have never replied, and I still feel no need to reply. I think that this email was just sent to people, so that the jazz band can show the craft they have been practicing for however long they have been practicing.
